About the Project

The Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium took place for the very first time in Southeast Asia, right here at Marina Bay on the 29 & 30 October 2022.

Alongside the big names in Tour de France, our region and nation’s best came together for a great day of racing around a fast and technical 3.1km circuit, going past some of the most iconic landmarks in the city.

Together with the pro events, the weekend was also supported by a series of amateur races, the Brompton World Championships, corporate and community mass rides; together with a host of festivity activations, cultural exchanges and community engagements to bring people closer through the sport.

Solution

Our primary role was to deliver a race circuit that would challenge the riders in multiple aspects; from techniques to outright pace.

To do that, we worked with several local and international partners to ensure that the circuit design fits the requirement of various stakeholders, including the Amaury Sport Organisation for circuit specifications and the Singapore Tourism Board to ensure that iconic landmarks form part of the race circuit.

Once the ideal circuit was developed, discussions with the authorities and agencies went underway. Our team developed all traffic management plans and communications specific to this event in alignment with prevailing regulations to ensure that the impact to public road users are minimised.

In addition, our team supported with race management matters which included developing of registration, race operations and process flow, as well as event day team area and athletes’ welfare area management.

All in all, it was a great spectacle and festival for all who attended, marking it as a success for this inaugural event.
