About the Project

The signature sporting event staged annually by the hotel since its inauguration in 1987 was held on Sunday, 25 November 2018. The event saw participants blazing up 1,336 steps over 73 storeys in the shortest time possible. Soaring at a height of 226 metres as one of Southeast Asia’s tallest hotel, Swissôtel The Stamford has been the site for Asia’s pioneer and most challenging Vertical Marathon.

Solution

Recognising that there are participants up for a greater challenge, the Swissôtel Vertical Marathon Vertical Challenge was introduced. In this new category, two obstacle courses were included on top of the vertical marathon. Participants have to complete the first obstacle course before starting their ascend up the hotel. They had to then make another stop at Bar Rouge, Swissôtel The Stamford’s premier rooftop bar, on the 71st floor to complete the second obstacle course before finally reaching the finish point at the Helipad. A total of 1,226 participants took part in the Vertical Challenge category.

The greatest highlight of the event would be the view from the top at the helipad of the tallest hotel in Singapore – not something you get to enjoy everyday!
