About the Project

Bare Your Sole is Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s annual barefoot fundraising and advocacy campaign to raise awareness of the less fortunate. The event attracted 5,000 participants from all walks of life as they came together with one common goal in mind – to raise funds for the less-privileged.

Solution

To highlight and provide a tangible experience of what the less-privileged communities go through, participants walked barefoot together for 2.5km or 5km starting and ending at OCBC Square at Singapore Sports Hub. The walk brought participants on a scenic route to Gardens by the Bay and back, raising a total of $250,000. The funds raised were then used to support and improve the living conditions of the underprivileged in Singapore.

After the event, participants were also treated to an array of performances and activities for the whole family while learning more about the work Habitat for Humanity Singapore does. A highlight would be the mock-up of a 1-room HDB apartment for participants to physically be in the space and experience what the typical living conditions of the less privileged are like.
